Textual TangoThe conversation, like making love;
begins, slow -
intentional with gesturing hands,
metered and planned
(still under control.)

Somewhere we'd believe (at first)
was halfway through,
our voices rise, touching something fierce.

We're panting -
catching breath with butterfly nets.
Baiting and debating
like spouses on the outs:
hashing marks and keeping score,
scratches in your back like
chalk on board.

The session roars -
It swirls though all our mental collections,
now scattered on the floor.
Easy, winds recede, and I'm left naked,
cheap,
some metaphysical whore:
